Zambia Daily Mail Limited, an equal opportunity employer and leading newspaper Company in Zambia is inviting suitably qualified and high calibre individuals to fill the position of ICT MANAGER at our Head Office.
Reports to the Managing Editor, the ICT Manager will be required to provide leading edge ICT services to the functional units of Zambia Daily Mail Limited.
The incumbent is expected to be an innovator, a creative person with futuristic ideas on technology, someone who is able to lead teams to develop solutions, not just for internal usage, but to take these solutions to market as a means of generating income for the organization. It will be further expected that the individual will have demonstrable track record of all the above referenced quality traits.
Main Duties:
- Provides strategic direction and key technical oversight of ICT to support high-quality programs implementation.
- Leads the ICT team in the delivery of innovative services, supports the computing hardware, networks and software needs of numerous departments of Zambia Daily Mail Limited and provides both strategic and operational guidance to the Team.
- Drives digital innovation and serves as a cross-functional change agent across departments and units, orienting management and operations teams on trends in technology applicable to the organization.
- Manages team dynamics and staff well-being including the development of individual performance plans and monitoring of agreed performance targets for all direct reports.
- Based on insights from supervisor and management leads, the incumbent designs and implements ICT strategy by working with cross- functional teams to map and transition traditional processes to digitalones.
- Develops a clearly defined and compelling digital strategy for the organisation’s future and champion the use of digital technology and practices to engender a digital mind-set at Zambia Daily Mail Limited.
- Measures ROI on digital technology projects, provides scorecard on investment in the digital tools and resources.
- Works with teams across the organization to generate innovative digital solutions for services.
- Supports and supervises of information management focused on data quality, security and uses.
- Provides ICT strategic inputs at the Executive management level of the organization.Develops and monitors the implementation of ICT budgets
Qualifications and Experience requirements
- Full grade 12 certificates with a minimum of credits in Mathematics and English.
- A Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant IT field.
- A post graduate ICT qualification will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 10 years of practical experience in similar ICT management environment with at least 5 years’ experience at Senior Leadership level with practical demonstrable accomplishments in development, deployment, Implementation and maintenance of IT systems.
- Certificate in Project Management is an added advantage.
- Proficient at establishing IT services framework and IT security policies.
- Strong grasp and understanding of ICT with forward looking preparedness of the ever-changing ICT environment.
- Good understanding of networking technologies both wired and wireless.
- Highly innovative with knowledge of Linux/Unix, Mac OSX and Windows.
- Candidates must have valid membership of ICTAZ.
